Golden Flashes Field Hockey Signs Five in Class of 2026 - Kent State Golden Flashes

KENT, Ohio — Third-year head coach Heather Hefner officially announced that five members of the 2026 high school class have signed to join the Kent State field hockey program in the fall.

"We're really excited about the five student-athletes joining our program this fall," Hefner said. "Each of them embodies the culture and values that are important to us, especially their relentlessness and commitment to growth. They are a driven group eager to develop and make an impact, and we can't wait to get them to campus."

Tatiana De Greef
Forward
Hoeilaart, Belgium
De Greef has played with Royal Oree Hockey Club in the top division of Belgian hockey for the past few years and was her club's top scorer the past two seasons. She has also competed up with the U19 team, gaining valuable experience against older and physically stronger opponents.

Mae Higgins
Forward
Gillette, N.J.
Higgins added to her long list of prep accolades, which include being a three-time all-county and three-time all-conference honoree, with a North Jersey all-star selection as a senior. She totaled 102 points on 43 goals and 16 assists as a four-year starter at Watchung Hills Regional High School.

Maddie McKenney
Goalkeeper
Eagleville, Pa.
A MAX Field Hockey Top 100 Players to Watch selection, McKenney was a three-time all-state performer at Methacton High School. She totaled 30 shutouts and 350 saves while leading the Warriors to three state tournament appearances and two conference championships.

Riley Redanz
Forward
Williamsville, N.Y.
Redanz earned all-state and all-Western New York first-team honors during her senior season in the fall. She totaled 70 points on 23 goals and 24 assists as a four-year starter and team captain at Williamsville East High School. In 2023, she was selected to compete at the Junior Nexus Championship and helped her team win gold.

Mara Renner
Midfielder
Böblingen, Germany
Renner competes for the Baden-Württemberg State Development team and was selected as a team captain.
